Hey guys, so I have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and the SES light keeps coming up. I've taken it to my mechanic and he can't seem to find anything that is wrong with the vehicle. This has been going on and off, but the vehicle drives fine and normal. I was just wondering where I could take my vehicle to get this problem fixed. I heard that auto value checks codes for free, if so is there a certain auto value I have to take my vehicle to or can I go to any location? Thanks, for you help.

Yeah you'll have to get the codes when th light is on.. Go from there.. For now? Take your gas cap off and put it back on tight..

Yep you can go to any auto value and they'll pull the code for ya for free.

This happened with my 97 pathy. My fuel economy hit the crapper at the same time.

turned out to be bad oxygen sensor, I also had the issue with the gas cap not sealing due to corrosion at the lip of the fuel hose (where the cap seals).

When the light comes off, and say goes off again, and it should log it for pulling later.

(True for OBD2 vehicles, yours might not be - perhaps OBD1)

Its a 2003, it is in his post. This means it's OBDII.

The code will be stored in the ECU, stop by auto value and have the code read then come back and post it.

Your mechanic should have been able to pull the code.
I'm going to guess its a evap leak. Common with newer pathfinders
