whats more entertaining is that he actually thought he was spinning the tires. i guess all he wanted after all was just a little smoke.
really though if he can't spin the tires in a corvette Z06 then he should seek professional help.

It looks like this is a joke. It looks like the guy was at the garage to get his clutch fixed and thought this would be a funny way to burn off the last bit of the clutch and get some Youtube fame.

That would make sense, since I just don't see how someone could own a Vette and not know how the car is supposed to feel when it's spinning its tires.

Yeah I'd imagine his friends wouldn't sit idly by as he smoked the crap out of his clutch like that.

He obviously locked the wheels somehow, maybe ebrake? If you watch aorund the 40 second mark, the wheels start to spin and then stop dead. Either he's got all 4 wheels locked with the pedal, or he pulled the ebrake.

Now, whether or not he locked them on purpose for the video or not is another question...

looked like he was holding the brake pedal way too hard. it takes a slight feel to get the front tires to lock but not hard enough that the engine can't over power the rear brakes. but with a 490+hp motor he must have that brake pedal on the floor.

Agreed. Especially since no one seemed to realize it was the clutch right after it happened.

"that was not the tires"
"what was it"
"I don't know"

Then the one smart guy suggests clutch and everyone disagrees with him :nut:

The guy driving suffers from a severe case of TCOS (Typical corvette owner syndrome) is my guess.

Lots of smoke from a clutch, he was really laying into it.

Ahh, incident totally not related but reminds me of the SLK AMG I saw on Robson St. in Vancouver.

The guy was doing a left turn at a traffic light and just wheel spins it while turning and loses control slightly with people walking everywhere on Boxing Week. Total douche profile too.

Must be a joke. How do a group of people at a mechanic shop not know the difference between how clutch smoke smells and how tire smoke smells?

It's either the worlds dumbest group of people, or a moderately well executed prank. My guess is the latter.
