How many of you ride your bikes to work during the winter?
I vowed to get in shape this year and will probable do 50km's a
day.My other question is what tire rubber do you guys use.

If youre just starting back into cycling, id say start in the spring, but i ride over the winter, road bike with slicks and never really had any problems.

I encourage everyone to ride, i hope you go through with this, once you jump on the bike, you wont turn back.
Its frowned upon by most drivers, but screw 'em, ride every day.

I love it. I am going to print this and pin it up on the wall. This man's head is so far up his own ass... I love that last line! Only poor people ride bicycles!

Geoff Keyser (Handout) Who I am: I'm a 27-year-old engineer residing in Calgary. I studied engineering in Kingston, Ont., and prior to that lived in London (UK) and Houston. But I have always considered Calgary home.

Most of my free time is spent outdoors doing some sort of activity such as skiing, cycling, kite surfing or whitewater kayaking depending on the season.

I truly hope this isn't you and you found this info somewhere.

I also find it quite ironic that he has cycling as one of his activities.
F-cking tool.

After that most recent heavy snowfall I saw a guy biking eastbound on Glenmore right after the blackfoot bridge and before Deerfoot. This must have been one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Since the plows had covered the shoulder with snow this dude was on the very edge of the road slipping around while cars drove by millimeters away @ 80-100km/h.

Im down with winter biking (Biked through all conditions at school), but this was just stupid. If theres no shoulder on a highway, you have absolutely no business biking there...

ahaha...
During the spring-fall i have no problems at all weaving through downtown traffic, and taking the lane, but kudos to riding downtown on slippery roads.
