So, I made the thread on 780 and got nothing but BS from those guys, so I will try here, where guys know and respect good fitment.

I recently sold my wheels, and am still looking to buy some, I haven't found any I like a lot yet...

I'm looking for some suggestions, or if you know of any for sale, my price limit is 1500-2k just for the wheels. I used to have volk GT-n's so I want something of the same caliber and level, and something that has lip.

I guess I'll start with a pic of my old setup.

I spent a week bidding on meisters in Japan, but the price went far above my max in the last 2 hours :(

I'm currently looking at brand new Work XD-9's
17x8.5 +31
17x9.5 +28

this car has 17x7.5, 17x9.5

I have a secret love for Blitz 01's, and 03's

Le37s would look good always loved the blitz wheels as well if u can find a set. Your sizing that u want looks good. 9 +22 works nice in the rear as well.

I hear that the blitz 03's are prone to corrosion around the bolts, and looking at the ones on rbwheels, they are all corroded, so that kinda sucks.

LE37's are awesome but what sizes would i need for them to be concave?

Redlyne_mr2

Can't get concave le's unfortunately

Yea, i did some lookin, they are a flat face, unless they are pretty wide.. They are also discontinued, and very tough to find in proper sizes.

These could be great with a refinish/polish.

gregrego

Depends on what you call a good deal :)

Also, I'm not 100% sure the advan gold will look good with the AMP.

SO I made my decision, not your RG's, something brand new.

Last question before I buy them, COLOR and Size..

http://www.jdmchicago.com/images/mr/14.jpg

These are 17's, Should I get 18's in order to get hella flush?

What offsets will give me fitment that will not require a pull

18x8 front

Available offsets, +28, +35

18x10 rear (OR 18x9??)

Available offsets, +18, +38. The lip is the same regardless of offset.

COLORS:

STD Color: Matt Bronze (MHG), Matt Gray Silver (MGS)
Optional Color: White (WHT), WORK Metal Buff (WMB)

I emailed asking about getting them done Matte Black

I hate making a decision like this cause if they don't fit then I'm hooped!

IMO a balance of both looks and function come into play i personally would rep 17's better for tracking, lighter.. etc but thats just me.. either way nice choice on the wheels they should work pretty well with your cars color..:D

those look nice i still prefer the blitz01s though.

18's are gross on an sw20 IMO. Diameter wont affect flushness really either. 17x8 +28 will work nice in the front. In the back 17x9 +18 if you can get it. Those are nice wheels for sure.

ok,

Available sizes in 17 are,

17x7.5, +32 +42
17x8.5, +25 +32
17x9.5, +17, +28, +38

So Matte Satin Black might work?? They can always be repainted later which is nice.

If you want to go really aggressive and do a bit of work to the front then 17x8.5+25 and 17x9.5+17.

I will be rolling, there's no doubt in that but I really don't want to pull the fenders, in my opinion that really wrecks the body lines of the car.

Redlyne_mr2

OK id do +28 in the rear then.

Redlyne_mr2
01-04-2010, 11:20 PM
And 32 in the front

gregrego

That was the original plan, and will require a small spacer front and rear to push them out enough. I'm just awaiting word on the custom color.

Redlyne_mr2

Yah just read youre thread on mr2oc... looks like spacers in the front will be needed.

i rolled my shit like 2 weeks ago and it pulled the fenders regardless if i wanted it haha the fender roller kind of just pulls them regardless if u want it 2.. lol like i think mine pulled like 5-7mm on each side.. looks aggressive though..

Holy 5-7 is a lot. When I did the evo It pulled a tiny bit too. Did u do it with the spindle copnnected to the coilover?

Yea, I dunno I've seen a few different methods, but most have the person removing the oem coilover, or installing their oem suspension so they have more travel for the roller.

We'll see how it goes.

Bought the wheels in Endurance black with a non - stick clear coat, so break dust wont stick to them.

here's an example of them:

I will have more dish than the wheel on the right.

preview.

Will need a 3-4 mm spacer in front to clear coilovers, and then about a 5mm in the rear to compensate and even out the stance.

Rear fitment.
