This is Alberta. We have snow on the ground 8 months of the year. Which one is more practical?

Sounds like you live more in NWT.

And what's up with all the stupid threads lately, I think this is purely a choice you have to make.

I would have RWD.

328i is more fun to drive imo.

I know RWD is fun to drive.
I'm asking this question for year round.
is it hard to drive rwd in winter?

ummm no, you just asked which is more fun to drive, you didn't specify weather conditions or time of year :drama: lol

anyways, RWD will be harder to drive in winter then the AWD but it's manageable with winter tires and some driving skill

I speak from experience between the 335i and the 335xi. The suspension on the 335i sport package vs. the 335xi sport package has much less body roll and is in my opinion better. I would imagine that it would be similar on the 328i vs. the 328xi.

As far as winter driving is concerned, my dad has a 335i with Dunlop Wintersport M3's and they have been very good in the snow with no major problems. I still think the 335xi on winters would be better however since there has been a couple times where on a incline the 335i has needed a push to get going on ice.

I have a 328i but havent had the chance to drive it yet lol bought it the car was stolen and the whole dash was taken out lol but RWD in winter can be fun only if you dont over do it on the gas like said ontop it needs skill but yeah drive any RWD car for a bit then buy one for your self :D.

Yeah 328i RWD will be fine if you have good tires.

AWD is nice though. Gets you moving quickly. More ground clearance as the XI models are usually higher than the RWD ones.

might as well stick to rwd with the bmw.

audi > all for awd performance.

went awd the whole winter with no issuesor have to worry about winter tires. the only downside was the gas wasted
go with the 328xi

I have driven a bmw 328i with perelli snow tires and it was absolutely fine. The problem with the car in the winter has more to do with its low ride turning into a snow plow than traction issues.

Don't be a woman, get the 328i.

I have a 335i, with blizzaks LM22 winters, 95% of the time you will be fine, the other 5% of the time is when the roads are super icy, etc. you will have traction problems, like at lights etc. In those situations I am always turning off the traction control to even get going so I can get more wheel spin.

But you won't regret the RWD in the summer :D

328i, it's fine in the winter, but if you want an auto tranny then don't get either.
