I've seen this guy around a few times, was able to snap pictures today. He drives this thing all winter long. Yes, this is in Winterpeg.

It does have a truck bed. It must be custom.

That's a 1959 Ranchero model by Ford, I believe. I knew the body design as seen in that picture. However, the rear taillights looks to not match the U.S. model. I guess it may be the Canadian model? Not sure but Ford Canada was known to do that back in their days. :dunno:
Cool winter beater!

It's a 1957 Ford Ranchero - front bumper matches a 1957. 58's had same rear styling and 59's were different. Tail lights are odd though - suspect they've been modified.

As a side note, modern day versions of the Ranchero and El Camino available in Australia - http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/xrt_utes.htm

Yeah - you're right. I stand corrected - it's definitely a '57 model. I remembered now that Ford Canada had the Meteor line for a short time. This is a 1957 Meteor Ranchero - the Canadian version of Ford.
Found a bit of trivia:

Only 300 made for 1957? Wow, now that'd be way lower for any surviving Ranchero trucks still on road. Wonder how many now??
