Did you format the drive by using the windows install boot or some other means?

I would try deleting all partitions and reformatting the hard drive from the windows CD.

Step 1: Google the error code

Step 2: Use the various search results to find possible solutions, as you for sure aren't the first person to get any given error code

Step 3: Try various methods found in step 2, and repeat until solved.

That is pretty much how I have troubleshot every windows installation error message, and although it can be time consuming, that seems to be the way to do it and I've yet to find a better method.

^^ this. The M$ page seems useful. Try going into the BIOS and changing your SATA devices from AHCI or RAID to IDE. These options are also sometimes called 'compatible' or 'fast' or uhhh.. Just look for "SATA mode" or some such.
