View Full Version : $350 for a used knuckle from the wreckers??

well... that is how much my mechanic says he bought the new knckle for my car... i called a wrecker in calgary and they were willing to ship it to edmonton for $200 but it was too late... is my mechanic bending me over??? what is a reasonable price for a used knuckle from a wrecker? my car is a 95 lude btw... argh!!!!!

^^^ kevie no that is just the actual part!!! i called that # you posted for me and they had it for $200 shipped to edmonton... but it was too late as my mech had already found this one, bought it, and put it in...

phone a dealer and check their price. if its close, call the mechanic out.

i should clarify... it's not just the knuckle but the spindle and hub assembly as well...

ok... i think my mech had second thoughts and only ended up charging me 250 for the knuckle... fuck they hate me there. they ended up scratching my bumper so now they will probably lose money on the whole repair... ah well fuck em!

I took my car to a local place so he could have a listen to the wheel bearings.....when I go to get in it after I see the mechanic's light outline of greasiness on my seat :eek:
I just about shyt my pants. I can't believe how little regard some shops have for their customers cars.

it would be reasonable taking in account that a used knuckle comes with the wheel bearing intact, where as a new one does not
