For any of those who liked 300, Spartacus is a TV show, just like 300, lots of sex and nudity, even down to the girls vag (crazy for tv stuff), the blood and action is also like 300, the story line is more like the gladiator though.

First episode is on Jan 25, I am looking forward to it since Dexter/Curb/Californication/True Blood are all in repeats. Spartacus and The Pacific will make up most of my tv watching :D this spring.

Good show so far, I do agree the pace to it seems a little fast, but it could be a 1 season only show so they are trying to fit everything in...

I just saw spartacus for the first time yesterday. Awesome show. For people with Shaw on Demand, with movie central etc. You can find it there to watch.

Spartacus is a terrible show. It's unoriginal, poorly acted, and poorly written. It tries too hard to be like 300, and it tries too hard to be like Gladiator.

I could barely get through the first episode cause of the acting.

Rome is literally 10000000x better than Spartacus. It's an amazing show and feels really really authentic. Lot of major historical figures are present and it actually teaches you a bit of history. And lots of blood and titties :D

I liked Spartacus. I wasnt expecting much though. The finale was awesome.

The show got much better after the first 2-3 episodes.

Less focus on the lame 300'ish slow mo blood effects, and more focus on the writing, politics, back stabbing and the fight scenes got better as well.

Season finale last night was pretty epic.

If you can make it through the first couple episodes give it a shot.

it's alot like the movie 300 in the way they do their battle scenes. It's a really good story, good acting and there's boobies and extreme violence in EVERY ep. =D

yep i read somewhere it's been signed to a 2nd season.

I agree it starts off slow but really picks up speed half way.

I agree. I downloaded the first season, watched the first couple of episodes and found them not to be all that good, but based on this thread I continued watching expecting it to get better at some point but it never did. I'll start out with what I liked about the show. Nudity, as a kid I used to watch Xena the Warrior Princess, at one point you begin to wonder whats under all that armor, now I know. I like violence, but they take it over the top, I know thats what is intended but I would rather it be more like rome/gladiator than 300/sin city. I think the guy cast as sparticus did a decent job, but the script didnt really allow some of the actors to showcase their skills. Most of the other actors were rather poorly chosen for their roles. The show has fairly poor character development, never once did I feel anything for the characters nor get a sense of their bond as gladiators like you did with Vorenus and Pullo in rome. When I watched rome for the first time, there was alot of anticipation to see the next episode, I never felt the same way about sparticus.

I never really got a sense that the story was progressing, the build up of each episode for the most part was some sort of gladiatorial battle. It also seemed like sparticus went from being a shitty sword fighter to gladiator god in like two episodes. Im sure there are people who can overlook the story and acting and concentrate on the sex/violence, but for me if the story isnt well told/acted then it cant really be called a good show.

There was still plenty of nudity / sex scenes, but yeah it definitely got cut down from before.

yeah the nudity dies down in the middle episodes, it picks up a bit later. But imo the show isnt really worth watching for that reason alone.

I tried watching the new episode a few days ago, I couldn't watch it for more than 15 minutes, the new guy sucks.
