That is soooo nice. So much want, it is ridiculous. If it does make it to Canada, i hope they tone it down a bit to leave more room for mods. As is, it would b pretty hard to add to it without it looking over done. I also hate the back "connect-y" tail lights. Seriously, why? The tail lights would look LFA-ish without the connector, which would be bad ass.

is it just me or does anyone else see the GT-R styling cues in this, it's a nice looking car no doubt, and if they price it in the STi range it'll sell amazingly. I wonder if this is going to be the first volly fired in the production drift car game? brand new turbo 2 wheel drive car, backseats for insurance purposes I'm sure. makes sence if you think about it

That's exactly what I thought as well, GTR. Nice looking car but all cars are starting to look like each other again. Someone's gonna have to break the mold and come up with something different.

I don't think it looks anything like a GTR... Minus the huge wing and CF hood, I think it looks great.

I dunno, don't really like it - looks like a modified g35 coupe, and it seems like every manufacturer is having some form of g35c in their lineup nowadays.

Sad but true. The CRZ is total fail. All Toyota has to do is price this thing equal to or less than the CRZ and that will spell the doom of that car (if it isn't already doomed).

If you want to compare apples to apples; If somebody offered me a choice between the CR-Z and the Prius... I would choose the CR-Z. Although I would never buy either.

On a more relevant note to this thread; go compare production models of Toyota and Honda to see which one has better performance. It is a hands down win for Honda.

I am pretty sure Toyota is still continuing to do all the ball sucking for 2010.

It would be nice to see some real performance cars from Toyota, they used to put out some great models until they let the brand go limp. I kind of get the feeling this is just another concept tease so I am not getting my hopes up.

The founder of Toyota's grandson is now running the company. He was the main reason the LFA went into production and he is also the reason this FT86 is being built. He recently apologized to the public for how boring Toyotas have been over the last decade.

Toyota jeopardized its stellar reputation for quality by pursuing volume at all costs. Pair that with underpowered, middle aged couples favorite and Toyota spells decline for the young crowd market.

They are fortunate to have a boss who understands what has gone wrong and pushes for an agenda of exciting / innovative cars.

I really hope Honda doesnt go too far down that path... It kinda looks like they are however. They need exciting cars again.

The problem is, this is a forum and doesn't represent most of the population who are buying new cars today, the people in the early to late 30's. While the young age demographic may care more about performance, most over 25 don't care about performance (as long as it has like 250hp [like the 07+ Camry's]), whereas comfort, features, and fuel economy are their primary concern. Because Toyota and Honda realize that the development and research needed to create new FT-86's and Supra's and NSX's aren't feasible anymore when people are buying smaller fuel economical cars, they've stopped creating these performance derived cars. So to me anyways, its a small shock that Toyota is branching out again with performance directed cars... I think its largely because Toyota hasn't released an exciting car in years which is part of the reason they are releasing this, and to hopefully gain the market share of which the Genesis coupe, MX-5, Mustang, 370Z etc enjoy.

Just my $0.02, but red light racing sure gets old quick, and I see no point in lots of power and using LOTS of gas in such a traffic ridden city such as this. What could 500 horsepower do in this city that a 40hp VW Beetle coudn't do? Beat you to the rear end of the car infront of you - WOW, lol.

So is North America getting the Subaru and Toyota versions? I would prefer the Toyota versions for better local dealer service and since it has a Subaru engine you will probably need to make a few unscheduled trips to the dealer.

if we get the turbo version here, do you think we could be seeing stock 300hp?
