You mean laser diffuser. Jammers are illegal.

Um, no.

Detectors and Jammers are completely legal to use in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.

Jammers produce active interference are in violation of federal laws requiring all consumer devices to a) accept interference and b) not emit harmful interference.

Diffusers are completely legal, and the terms are used interchangeably, but mean different things. Diffusers passively interact with laser signals, scattering them.

Think what you'd like, but I have 3 family members in both the VPD and CPS, and this topic has come up more than once between us. There is nothing wrong with using a laser jammer and you will not be fined, ticketed, etc.

Edit: Ease your mind and just google "alberta laser jammers radar detectors" and tell me what you come up with. I will assume it will coincide with what I have just said.

:dunno:

97'Scort is confusing radar vs laser jamming.

What you just said about a diffuser is the same idea then, it is interfering with the officers device because it is not letting the officers device receive it's own, original signals.

Stop being perdantic.

LIDAR signals are legal to be jammed or modified

RADAR signals are controlled and illegal to modify or jam

I wouldn't mind testing my jammer too.
Did you go with a blinder?

I'm confused between Jammers and Diffusers. I didn't know there even was such a thing as Diffusers.

Yes I went with Blinder M-47 and VEIL

I'm looking to test out the unit. I don't want my money going to the goverment no more.

VEIL seems like a bunch of hooey. Anybody got some facts on it?

EDIT: Yeah, fuck, a product promoter that needs to call themselves "a true believer" doesn't inspire confidence.

I love the "tinted" look it makes your lights look.

And if it works great!

I got a ticket with my front end pull of snow and dirty as hell and I got hit with laser so who knows.

If youre driving like an ass, the CPS will use a visual estimation of your speed - which will work just fine.

Going 100 in a 50 zone makes it really easy for eg.

BUT visual speed or estimated speed is really easy to fight in court. If there pacing you then its as good as a clocked speed.

There is some good videos of VEIL on youtube. VEIL doesn't stop laser reading it just gives you afew seconds of response times.

Got hit by laser by a sheriff last night. 135kph in 110 zone.

Heading to edmonton he was sitting right behind the scales near airdrie.

I would say the blinder works!!!

Its easy to argue a 60 in a 50 zone visual estimation ticket.

Good luck dong the same with a 100 in a 50 zone visual ticket.

The SRX does not "shift" radar. Sorry. Only detects it.

LOL...I didn't get pulled over. Thats how I know it worked. And I turned around and went by the scales again doing 140 and got hit and still nothing...

This is a stupid question but will this work against those caravans parked on the side of the road doing photo radar?

No. These use radar, anything that jams radar is illegal. Radar can be detected (again, not jammed) by a radar detector.

Get a trusted-name radar detector for speed-vans and police radar. Lidar is only used in stationary situations (speed traps).

Describe the circumstances a little more, was there traffic all around you or were you alone?

So what your saying is this blinder m-47 is only good for highway rcmp? or do city police use laser too? I am very interested because I am deciding whether or not I should purchase a radar detector (Passport of course) or a laser jammer.

Get the laser jammer. If you need a device to tell you there is a photo radar van parked on the side of the road then you probably shouldn't be driving lol.

Look at my other thread I started.

Laser is for laser not radar

That answers everything. Can you buy the blinder m-27 in calgary or is it only online?

Yes there is a place on 32nd ave NE but I can't seem to remmeber the name. There a sponser on here I think. Find out how much they want then PM me and Ill see what I can do for you. I know the guy I bought mine from.

Cool thanks a lot man. Im interested in the escort 8500 X50 as well. I cant make up my mind if i want a jammer or a detector.

2BLUE
01-28-2010, 03:20 AM
Get both...A laser jammer is more money but it will save your ass.

I radar detector is for radar. RCMP 99% are radar.

Only when they set up shop on the highway they are using laser.

wes_v
01-28-2010, 03:25 AM
I mainly want it for the highway and city as well. The escort 8500 is for radar and laser, I think it should be good enough.

2BLUE
01-28-2010, 03:28 AM
Yes but what your not getting is once your detector goes off with laser its already to late. A laser gets your speed so fast your detector beeps off after the cop has your speed.

I own the 8500 also and thats what I got my ticket with last month :(

wes_v
01-28-2010, 01:31 PM
I think the laser jammer is the only wat to go then. A co-worker of mine has the 8500 and he keeps getting tickets as well with it.

No questions that Blinder M27/47 is a good laser jammer.
However if you want the best laser gun protection you should get Laser Interceptor.
Laser interceptor has proven, on many independent tests, to be by far the best laser jammer.

Do your research;
