I just finished doing the " Wild Rose Detox"

for the second time and I feel great.Tha benefits are dropped about twelve pounds, whiter teeth, less headaces, more energy, etc.
I'm gonna keep eating the same but obviously one of the main characteristics of the detox is "cleansing and elimination of wastes from the system.".
So what would help with that. Should I eat Bran Muffins or maybe get some Activia. Also suggestions for supplements or vitamins would be appreciated.
Thanks for any advice.

depends how you want your shit... if you have been constipated, you want soluble fibre. This is found in fruits and vegetables.

Soluble fibre picks up water as its going through the system, hence why too much fruit can cause diarrhea.

The cleansing effect, insoluble fibre works. The fibre provides bulk, think of a shovel pushing everything through your system. This comes from you whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and beans.

Ideally you want you fibre to come from both sources though. To the tune of at least 28 g per day. You will never need to do a cleanse if you are eating healthy food, lots of fruit vegetables and whole grains.

Your best bet for fruits are berries, raspberries and blackberries in particular also kiwi (with skin).

For grains, your whole wheat pasta is great, sprouted grain bread, brown or wild rice, steel cut outs.

As I mentioned 28g/day if you can do more awesome. I usually aim for about 50. This is on 4000 calories though.

Just be sure that if you raise your fiber intake by quite a bit, you also raise your consumption of fluids! If you intake more fiber but the same fluid, you'll be come bunged up pretty quick. The fiber that stays in fiber form in your shit still needs to be moistened in order to lubricate and soften the stool. Especially insoluble fiber.

Some helpfull and entertaining replies.
So a summary from the responses is high fiber, fruits with emphasize on dried apricot and make sure to increase your water intake.
Thanks from all of us who enjoy the feeling you get from dropping the kids off at the pool!!!

Haha, I completely gave up eating KFC like 8 years ago because of what it does to your intestines. Everytime I had it I would wake up in the middle of the night with the worst pains in my stomach...yuck.

Just add fiber powder to your drinks and foods you eat. A small teaspoon is good for 3grams.

Benefiber (Green bottle) or Metamucil (Blue bottle) is good.

You know, I've never found fast food to cause me to crap more or sooner, but maybe my guts are just used to it from years of bad eating.

I have been trying to eat a lot of fibre the last couple weeks, and I'm having some beautiful shits each morning. These things belong in a frame, they are that pretty.

Oh dude but not the nice kind. I'm assuming it's lactose in the milk. I'm intolerant and tried taking 3, 9000cc's in lactase pills and it'll only work occasionally. It's so good but I have to just drink the lemon iced tea instead now haha Can't deal with it.

Metamucil. Best stuff ever.

A more natural alternative would be Papaya. I've seen it actually recommended by doctors as a laxitive. The best way to eat it: cut in half, scoop out the seeds, cut a banana into the cavity and drizzle with lime juice. Tastes great and will clean you out but in a nice way
