BMW GT1 / Diagnosis and Programming

I'm sure a bunch of you will recall the multiple threads I bashed local shops / dealers charing INSANE amounts of money for simple encoding of alarms, day-time running lights, etc. etc. etc.

Well... 6 months later, I finally have my BMW GT1 up and running. I can do full diagnosis and coding etc. This is dealership software and I can now do what a dealer can do.

I've been having it go for a while now - the local BMW forum knows about it, but I'd thought I'd post it here if anyone was interested because I said 6 months ago I was going to do it. (update style) - hesitant because every thread I create gets so bad it gets locked :dunno:

I have also been able to activate features that GT1 cannot even do - (with another program, using text editing of values.. all in german, don't ask me how fun that is)

Roll up the windows via keyfob

Foglights stay illuminated with activation of highbeam (bi-xenon or flash to pass inner halogen)

And:

DRL off (to accomdate for AE's)

OEM Alarm activation.

Not too sure what non-bmw types will think or appreciate this, but in our community - our cars rely heavily on dealer computers, and there are function which are locked simply because we are canadian specs

Good job mang, definitely a handy addition to any BMW enthusiast's/owner's garage.....

So when do you want to come and set some of my stuff up :D Actually I have the remote roll-up feature activated already, but I can only roll them up AND down with the key in the lock cylinder. I also would love to have the fogs-on feature as I drive to VanCity alot at night an the highbeams just don't cut it. I'm also interested in what else I can eff with on the X lol

All canadian cars can do via door lock, up and down.

I am seriously considering getting one myself now that half of the engine on my E31 is crapping the bed.

Did you pick up one of the knockoffs on Ebay? If so I suppose the interface quality is just as good as a Dealer GT1 (from what I see).

No I did not. I went a different route, with an EDIABAS capable lead.
