my reply:

My buddy wanted to do the same thing and I managed to convince him that if you go out of your way to try and screw scammers, you STILL lose. Nothing you do will ever stop these guys from doing what they do and, in the end, you'll have wasted your time and effort for zero gain. You will not feel justice has been served, you will not feel like the world is a better place.

Consider them a foregone annoyance in the process of buying a used car.

Unless you're dumb enough to actually fall for the scam and lose your money. Then you just do as much damage to them and their property as you can :P

You need to make them lose money. The P-P-P-Powerbook scam was a good one:
http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/

In summary basically he agreed to ship a Powerbook to the scammer, but it was just a taped up binder and it was declared to have a really high cost so that the scammer had to pay a huge customs fee to receive it.

^haha that's not a bad one, but imo you're still losing money to ship stuff to a scammer.

Honestly...just ignore them and if a deal's too good to be true, it usually is a scam.

Tell the scammer you can pick it up locally and then let the fun begin!

just say your inlaws live at a random address in the city they tell you it's located.

^ Lol that too
I love how they make excuses that they aren't in town and yet they still will get it shipped to you lol
