try here. http://resource.crx.org/
all the info you need is here
there are many things you can do. everything depends on one thing $$. You get what you pay for. Personally I'm going B18A with a turbo in the future. Cheap to start off with, but a great platform to start on. Can't beat 30+ hp for around $500. Don't forget to add in things like mounts, axels, ecu and shift linkage. They all add up in a hurry.

Speaking from experience, I say go with a b16. They are one of the most common swaps, which is going to make it easier for you in the long run. They are pretty quick NA, then just add some boost and youll be good. Finding a b18c for less than 4g is gonna be hard to find, and install is gonna be even more. Turbo b16 is the way to go IMO.

For a street machine with future turbo potential, B20 CRV motor. There's no replacement for displacement! :).

Do a search on CRV or b20 here, you'll find tons of info.

I would have to agree with rage2

I really like the B18a or B18b for someone on a budget.

Cheap, under $1000, and you jump about 40HP and more torque than a CRX has - if you want a b16a, it's going to cost you quite a bit more.

B20 CRV for shure. ZC if on a tight budget!

b20 is from a CRV...you can get either a b20 Vtec or not, the non-vtec version os cheap and an awsome motor to get some good power to the ground. Guys in the states have been doing b20 swaps for years and from what I've seen and read its one of the best swaps out there. If you are chosing between a b20 and a b18c1 and money is no object, I would definitly stick with the b18...I think you'll find with the price all worked out with tranny mm ecu the b20 (non-vtec) will be quite a bit cheaper.

aight whats the horsepower/torque differencials between the b20 and b18 tho

nope, the B20 is in the CRV which is why guys (mostly in the states) are using the bottom end, to get the torque, with the b16 or b18 vtec heads for top end power. There have been a shit load of these swaps done in the states and there is loads and loads of web pages on the swap itself. But don't count out the B18C5, I just picked up a writen off '99 Type R (the top of the hatch back to the back bumper was removed courtesy of a light post) with only 37,000 kms on it. Even with the shipping from Vancouver it was still a kick ass deal. Try finding something like that, not that this happens everyday, but same deal with a CRV, or Del Sol, of even a GSR. If you truely have the option to spend some money go for a larger displacement engine, B18C1or5 or build on a CRV Block. Good Luck

Actually the B20B was in the CRV. In the third gen lude's the B20A5 was one of the first (if not the first) b series engine. Unfortunately, it has very little in common with the rest of the b series.

That was actually the B20A5 with 135hp and 127 lb-ft torque. :D

So what was it like going that fast?

it feels quick. I was actually wearing a t-shirt and jeans that night. No riding gear at all. Brilliant eh? I just had to prove that 295km/h was no longer my top end

:werd: that engine has so much pull!... im swaping that in to my rex with a b16a vtec head, freankinstined baby! you can distroy a ITR (type R) off the line with that set up! but then you'll top off really fast, rightnow im trying to figure out how to get a higher top end speed...its great for track!

try it on me! won't happen! if you do it on a rolling start you will probably beat me but not off the line. If you are running an LSD then i would say yeah but without it i know you won't

as for top end you right, i will catch up and pass. That's when you need to change you cams and intake manifold. The cams will make the biggest difference for top end power, but depending on what type of cams you use.
