Sounds good guys. I will get a Beyond group setup on the same site as last year

Everyone is ok with another $20 buy in? Pay out will go to first and second (70/30) positions at the end of the season

I will post the link to join the group later today. :)

I'm in again. Last season someone mentioned something about a custom user title for the winner. Is that happening this year?

DJ Lazy
02-08-2010, 01:44 PM
I'm sure rage would be willing to do something like that but will let him answer that.

no points for being third on the podium?
I'm in. I'll try to get all my picks in on time this year and not cheat.

DJ Lazy
02-08-2010, 08:58 PM
buh_buh, weren't you busting my balls last year about that?!

I've setup a new sub-league on www.f1toto.com

If you are returning from last season, you should be able to log in, and Join the new sub-league.
If you are new, setup a profile (preferably your Beyond name), then "Join Sub-league" and search the drop down menu for....

Sub-league Name: Beyond.ca 2010

Payment must be received before the first Race.

Paypal is preferred otherwise I gotta transfer funds and crap. (if you don't have paypal I will accept Email Money Transfers or Cash in Person, however I would like to avoid this)

Paypal payments can be sent to: [email protected]

$20 buy-in + $0.88PP fee = $20.88 (via Paypal)

Payout:
1st Place - 70%
2nd Place - 30%

** Should a tie for first occur, pot will be divided 50/50 with no payout for 2nd **

If there is a tie for 2nd, ummm I dunno... 15/15? or you guys can toss me some ideas out! :D

Rules for the actual f1toto.com website and how the points system works are listed on the website and quite clear. If they are the same as last year, your picks have to be submitted 6hours prior to the race starting. If you miss out and don't get your picks in, your shit out of luck for that race. You don't want that happening, just ask Mibz..:D **The only exception is if the site crashes, in which case you MUST post your picks in this thread PRIOR to the race** I will ask rage2 if he can turn on No Editting for this thread just incase! ;)

If I forgot anything let me know. :)

One weird thing though. I was going to pay and Paypal was going to charge me a fee, so I unchecked the box and for me to pay $21.50 CAD, Josh would receive $20.58 CAD (0.92 fee). Is that correct? Or are we supposed to pay that fee so Josh receives $21.50 CAD? I so confused..

Hmm good question.. I haven't actually checked my paypal acct. I've just been going off of what my email notifications have been telling me.

Last year a bunch of payments came up short and I covered it out of my own pocket as they were all less than a $1 short. Didn't want that happening this year so I assumed that $1.50 would be just right... Obviously I was wrong and now it's too much.. :banghead:

Send what you need to to make it $20 even (after PP fee) Inzane.

I will refund the extra $0.58 (hopefully without pp fees) to you other 3 who have already sent. or I can hit you up at rage's if he hosts again this year. Mibz, A2VR6, Trini PM with which you would prefer. :)

To answer your question the fee needs to be paid, so that I receive $20 (the entry fee) after PP takes their stupid fee.

Inzane, if you can find out the exact amount that needs to be sent so i recieve $20 please post it here for others. :)

Here's a free tip:
Don't worry about 58 cents. I'm 1/4 Jew and even -I- don't worry about 58 cents.

Looks like the correct amount is $20.88. 2.9% of $20 is 0.58 + 0.30 = 88 cents.

Should be interesting to see what everyone does for picks.

Inzane
03-14-2010, 03:09 PM
Ah crap, here were my picks:

Massa - 7 pts
Alonso - 7 pts
Rosberg - 6 pts
Vettel - 8 pts
Hamilton - 6 pts
Schumi - 8 pts
Button - 8 pts
Barrichello - ZERO!!

Barrichello was admittedly my wild-card pick. I think of everyone in our subleague I may have been the only one to pick outside of the top 8 qualifiers.

However, am I missing something in the rules? Barrichello finished 10th in the race so how come that pick wasn't worth 6 pts for me?

If I'd just left Webber in there to round out the bottom of the top 8 I could've had 58 pts. D'oh. Instead I start the season near the bottom of our pool at 50 pts. Oh well... :dunno:

And the pool only counts drivers in the top 8, if you pick a guy for 8th and he finished 9th you will get 0 points. Just how it works.

DJ Lazy
03-14-2010, 04:50 PM
^^ Precisely...

The drivers you choose HAVE to finish in the top 8 positions for you to score any points.

Trust me 8 points in the pool can be easily made up in one race... happened last year :) Everyone will have a bad race where they screw up the picks... the key is consistancy.

Would have been nice if www.f1toto.com would have adjusted their points system this year now that the top 10 drivers receive points. Perhaps including a larger set of points for the pools, similar to the new points system actually in F1 (and WRC actually).

I think that would have really spiced up battles in the pool.. :D

Had I just put my Monaco picks exactly like the Qualy order (like a few of you did) I would've scored 3 more points than I ended up with. Oh well. Gotta take risks sometimes.

They don't update based on point corrections. I remember that happening last year too.

We rely on results published by the official F1 organization. If this information is not available for some reason, then gppool.com will decide.

Any adjustments to the official results (in connection with doping, etc.) that arise after gppool.com has updated the scoring will have no effect on the updated scoring. In other words: we will not adjust scorings.
