A small victory for Race City. At least now they can now focus on running the facility and looking for a new location with some certainty on their lease.

+1 for West. A course with some elevation changes would be nice.

West of Calgary would be nuts, mountain views, crisp mountain air for those early morning laps! Grey Eagle Race way:love:

AWESOME! I vote west. That way I won't need a big fuel cell.

I can already see a native guy standing on a nearby hill with a tear running down his face.

Perhaps an eagle calling in the distance.

makes me sick that the council already voted to give him 5 years but then again Art had to negotiate away 3 years just to be treated fairly with his taxes.

land West of the city is grossly overpriced compared to south or east.

2 years here 2 years there, they're really not doing anoybody a favor, the place is still going to be a hole with no sponsorship and no investment over what's absolutely necessary, so it will never succeed, with the end always so near.

dont get me wrong, i grew up out there, volunteered for 20 years out there, loved the place, but the state it's in now is nothing short of pathetic, and it wont get any "upgrades" or unnecessary repairs with the end so near.

Not to mention it's way too close to the affluent neighborhoods who can/will cause a major stir if they even think it's going near their area.

Do you really wanna see drive-by racing?

This actually kind of sucks for me, which is fine. I can't commit to building a race bike, or any kind of road course car. A)I won't have the car done inside of two years and B) Who wants to commit a bike to racing if you'll only get a season or two out of it?

I made out with my ex for 2 hours tonight, and couldn't close. Feel pretty dejected.

Just read about this in the Sun this morning.
I vote west, since the Badlands resort is out East of the city!

I really doubt it would be West of the city. That's the most expensive dirt in Calgary. Much cheaper to go East or North.

land north of the city is still pretty pricey. look how far out badlands had to go. BTW it will be past highway 9 which runs more northern. south of calgary would seem the most logical. going north it'll have less 'shield' from the mountains and would rarely see a chinook.

where is that dirt track anyways, somewhere near high river? just pave it.

Go suggest that to them. It will get you lynched. Dirt racing is just as popular as the next motorsport.
