I think Gary Jules would take offense to that

It's also a theme song fail for that movie and GoW, it only really suits Donnie Darko.

This could be interesting.

Then again, I said that about Daybreakers and all I've heard was 'meh.'

Day breakers was allright, they definately could have done WAY more with the premise than they did though.

Legion is probably biggest disspointment of the year for me though.

Came down to Book of Eli VS Legion.
We chose BoE. I suppose we made a good choice.

Cool, I cant wait to see it. Funny, that scene on the first trailer, of that woman being killed by a combine:rofl:  They have a top speed of 10 mph, and are very clumsy, slow turning & awkward. Even a cripple can escape the likes of one of those 1970's ones...
Yet shes helpless to avoid its deadly wrath eh? Oh... okie dokie. :)

I think that looks wicked. As long as they aren't super cheezy, I LOVE zombie flicks. 28 Days later was one of my favs.

Overly cheesy zombie flicks just make me  , but yes things like 28 days/weeks later, the remake of dawn of the dead... love those! Hell , im one of the few who enjoyed Quarantine lol

Saw it today, very enjoyable. Only thing is it was a bit predictable, but still very good :D

I thought it sucked.

I say wait for it to hit blockbuster to watch it. Not worth 12.50.

It was sweet, but their sheer stupidity through out the movie pissed me off.

Horror movies now a days need to find a way to have the heros do things that are intelligent (e.g not splitting up, taking dead army guy's guns etc...) and have them backfire. It needs to be that if they had actually split up then both would have made it out, but because they didn't one of them died. They need to bend the cliches that are involved in horror movies, it would make them less predictable, which is what I find is the reason that I haven't seen many lately.

Was this a formulaic zombie movie? Starts off with a normal person not knowing what's going on? Sees seemingly normal people killing other normal people? Runs into other normal people who haven't been infected...band up and go on their way to a safe place far away? Have the cliche FUN in a mall/store without anyone around...a little romantic subplot? Killing zombies...and at the end they ride off into the sunset and then during the credits we see video footage of the character may or may not being killed??? ;)

I saw it today, I enjoyed it but nothing great.

Just came back from it an hour ago.

It had a lot of 28-days-later flavour.... right down to the kind of music. But it was not as stylistic or well done - though it had more gore.

Overall, I quite enjoyed it. But it is nothing to write home about.

Canucks 3322: Yeah, much of what you said was the case. But then, isn't that what people expect from such a genre of film?

True that. silly lady.

Saw it the other day, I really enjoyed it, but it was defiantly done in ''classic'' horror movie style. Many cliches.
Some of the cinematography on the other hand was outstanding. When the helicopter blows the car up, then it shows the jet stream in the smoke as it pass's over, I was like

Good stuff. I'd recommend a watch.

Personally, shutter island. It's predictable, but it's very good. The Crazies is an enjoyable movie, but you will feel more fulfilled with Shutter Island. I was a bit surprised to see everything from the trailer happens within the first 15-30 min of the movie.

Just came back from seeing it.

Not bad, not good. Typical "zombie" flick.

If you are a fan of zombie movies, it's worth your time. If not, I would pass.

the wife and i went to see this a couple of nights ago cuz we were late for 'shutter island'. overall, it had its moments where i almost jumped out of my seat but it was....meh.

we probably would've enjoyed the movie more if buddy and his date sitting next to us would STFU! or the rest of the people in the theatre for that matter. also, he was wearing way too much old spice...lol. :thumbsdow

Just saw this today, thought I'd give it a go based on this thread and my love for Zombie movies. It sucked ass...the zombies were not real zombies, but more or less "crazy" people. No real continuity with the infection/virus and I didn't find any of the characters likable or the plot engaging.
The movie relied on cheap scares (shit popping out suddenly) and that was it's only redeeming quality for an ok time.

I think 28 Weeks Later, Dawn of the Dead (Remake), Rec, hell...even Zombieland has set the bar pretty high.
