So bought some new wheels and with new wheels must come new tires. Been running RT615's for years now and it's time for something different. I've heard some great things about the NT01's so I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them, specifically track/autox experience.

Thanks

I absolutely love those tires. I sold them for a while and always heard great things as well. Nitto makes a lot of great tires.

I installed them on a members track ready FD a couple years ago and he road raced regularily, he seemed to love them as well.

I know you arent asking for suggestions, but Im going to be grabbing a set of Vredestein's for the summer.. tough to beat the price, and it appears that they stack up VERY well to the competition. I dont know of any local supplier, but I was quoted $899+GST shipped out of Vancouver for a set of 235/35/19's....

Good luck getting replacements in a timely manner. I know someone that had a flat that couldn't be repair and it took more than a few weeks to get a new tire.

How did you like the RT-615s? I'm looking at getting some, they're less than 75 a tire in my size.

Last shipment I got from this retailer it took 3 days to get to me...(Assuming they are in stock) Looking around the web Vredesteins are being carried by more and more retailers.. not just eBay anymore. I dont see it being a problem.

The Nitto's are great I have sold Nitto's for over the last 2 years and have not one complaint from them. Everyone seems to love them on and off the track.

One client with a 600+whp Charger SRT was complaing about the ass drifting on the road track and after we changed the setup to the Nitto he was much more confident on the track and said he lowered is lap times quite a bit due to not sliding anymore.

My .02 cents

The RT615's were great tires 4 years ago but as with everything there are new and better tires out there. The RT's would get really greasy after about 5 or 6 hard laps at the track. I'm going to have about another 100hp this year so I need to make sure I have traction.

I have run the NT01s on several cars. Best value for sure in the r-comp world. Good compromise of grip, wear and $$$.

I have some old balls left from last year if you got 17s.

I bought some wheels a while back that came with NT01's on them. Ran them on the front for a day at the track and liked them a lot more than RT615's. I found the 615's got super greasy when hot like you said.

Comparing an r compound tire to a street tire isn't really fair

Any r comp will feel a ton better than the falken tires

the nt05 is the street tire comparable to the new rt615k

with that said the nt01 is a fantastic tire

I would go with either that or the ra1 if available in your size

the r888 is not that great and I don't have any experience with the a050 r from yoko yet

I have 275/40/17 and 255/40/17

2 brand new never mounted 275s, and 3 255s with 60% tread left. Let me know if you want them. You can have them all for $250, and a ride on the track this season.

Nitto's are hard to get in Calgary for some reason.
Wait time to get them is stupid and price is even more of a rip.
If you can get to the US and get a set, it's be best.

Other than that, I had Nitto NT-555's and loved them. I would bet that the N01's are one of the best for racing but don't street drive too much, the wear is heavy. Not that you would but I know ricer fanboys would. Then post on here that Nitto's sucks because they wear out so fast.
