Good places to cross country ski in Calgary?

So the girl and I are planning on going cross-country skiing over the weekend and being complete newbies to it, we don't know the best place to go. I'm hoping to stay within the city for now.

Any suggestions? I've heard that Glenmore can be good. Any tips on where to start or anything? I'm completely new at this.

City run golf courses have XC trails on them. I did it at Shaganappi last winter and it's good. There are tracks set and maintained by the Nordic club, I think. It's free as well!

The U of C Outdoor Center rents the full gear for about $15 too.
