I have a slightly unusual help request. I'm in the process of re-doing my office/studio and I'm in need of two great chairs for my desks. The unusual bit about this is that they need to LOOK great as well as FEEL great. Because I don't have the extra space in my studio for a client couch, my desk chairs will be doubling as seating for clients, and these clients are often moms who have recently given birth. Also, we spend anywhere from 4-8 hours a day sitting at the computer working. So yeah, a good looking and comfortable desk chair...not as easy to find as I originally thought.

So, have any of you ever stumbled upon such a thing? Black is probably prefered, but it could also be white or red. I have no issues putting a throw pillow or something on them to make them look a little cosier if need be, I just need the base first!

Any help (pictures, links, suggestions, locations) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Wheels?
Leather?
Price range?
Height adjustable?
Arm rests required?

I got a wicked chair at costco. Check out their chairs.

Wheels would be nice, but not manditory
Fabric doesnt matter
Height adjustment isn't too crucial, just an added bonus if it does have it
Arm rests are required I think, but I would consider ones that dont have them

Overlal not too picky, just looking for something nice that would sit at a desk comfortably!

If you have no price limit... Aeron chairs kinda have a reputation for being the Ferrari of office chairs. They actually are very incredibly comfortable. They have a whole line of chairs (arms, no arms, wheels, no wheels, adjustable, non-adjustable, etc...).

Don't know if they still do them - but I got a couple from Ikea a while back. Ergonomic, so very good on the back for long periods at a desk. Modern/urban look I would say.

Black leather, open arms, good width, high back five spoke with wheels as a base and both height and tilt/rock adjustment. Think they were about $200 each

Hmmm - from their current catalogue doesn't look like they do - but might be worth going to try some out if you're down that way:

If desk height isn't an issue (but I think it is) you cannot beat their "Poang" chairs for comfort and value for money:

Herman Miller right? The best chairs that I have ever sat on. Super comfortable and well worth the money long term wise.

+1 for Herman Miller.

If price is no object, the Embody chairs are super-cool:

Our office uses ones like this from Herman Miller: http://www.hermanmiller.com/Products/Aeron-Chairs

Best things ever. Once you use them, it will be hard to use much less. Perfectly supportive and ventilated. Very adjustable as well. I think retail on good chairs like this is near $1000 though, so they aren't good if you are on a budget.

Iown an office furniture dealership so PM me if you like.... Even if its just for information. On side note there are many chairs out there now that sit better than the aeron chair.I think it also is startng to look dated.

Herman Miller makes amazing chairs, I think I saw one at Costco a few weeks back. They only have one model though, but it was under $500 if I remember correctly.

I can vouch for the chair from the first link, I bought one for home - it's pretty spiffy! My only complaints are that the armrests aren't adjustable, and the mechanisms squeaked (some grease in the right spots fixed that though). Also, the material is more like vinyl and not the nice leather.

It may be a knock off of the Eames soft pad chair. Keep in mind if you ever buy a Herman miller chair though costco Herman miller dealerships will not warranty it.I used to run the design department for the local dealer and this issue came up a few years ago when costco tried to sell aeron chairs
