Haha so I went to Acura to pick up a few things and just for fun asked how much to get new headlights for my Legend and was told 900$ per headlight...Now I actually had to do a double take on that since that's absurd and the guy insisted that was the price.

So I'm wondering if there is a company that makes OEM replica headlights. I don't want gawdy ricey headlights. Just stock, or stock looking.

Any ideas? I know I could get them wetsanded and polished but I would rather just fresh headlights mine are completely scuffed and worn out from getting assaulted by rocks from the calgary roads.

I know you brought it up, but just wetsand and polish them - they'll come out looking good as new. May have a few deeper gouges, but who cares, it's not a show car and not worth spending hundreds on lights imho.

You can try an aftermarket place like Advance on 28 Street.

or online

Well for me it would be worth the couple hundred for headlights since I'll be driving from BC to New Brunswick next year. So I want my headlights as functional as possible.

But in view of the replies I may opt to just try and polish mine up. I had tried this summer but I don't think I tried hard enough since I ended up just barely making them better.

Once you've sanded and polished them, they look good as new - damages there will only be cosmetic, not effecting clarity (unless your headlights are worse than 99.99999999999999999999999999999999% of the ones i've seen)

It's basically like polishing paint - start with the least aggressive method and work up.

Usually meaning plastic-x, then 2000, then 1500 or lower. Be certain to mask off areas around it (hood, etc..) so you don't accidently sand and burn through them.

Good opportunity to take them out and try to do a retrofit maybe?

2efn I think you mean go from 1500 to 2000 to plastic X, not polish then sand with harsher grit..

If they're terrible start at like 800 and go from there..

Polish them and get some brand new bulbs as well. Good to go and you might actually see that Moose in your lane.

That's what I'm worried about mostly. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna try and find someone to do an HID retrofit for me at some point before I leave. I plan on doing at least half of Ontario at night to try and cut some time off our drive back home.

no, I meant start with plastic-x just to see if they're bad enough to need wetsanding (a lot look really cloudy but arn't that bad and can be done without wetsanding), then if that's not enough get into wetsanding.
