I bought this car so that i could build from the ground up.I currently have a jdm b16a with an lsd tranny to go into it.Currently i am still looking for and obd 2 to obd1 wiring harness conversion if anyone has one. I have a buddy that has a color matched bumper and body trims to replace the black ones. Also installing a 2.5 " exhaust brand unkown to me at this moment(also my buddies just have to ask) and of course cai. Tint is also in the works as well as a skunk 2 short shifter and knob and a 12k hid kit(all ready installed).I have a set of 17 inch rims but i think they are too big and am gonna finish cleaning them up and sell/trade them for 15or 16's.This stuff i want to have done by the june meet in red deer. Next winter will come the brake swap who knows what else. Lots of time between now and then and probably change my mind a hundred time before then.

Quick do a retrofit for the hid before scat19 finds out your running them in halogen housing

yes he will kill you unless you do a retro and tin your windshield to get his approval.

On a serious note that is a lot of glare... but I can see where you're coming from since the stock light output isn't great on our cars.

yea and 90%of the driving i do in my car is at night and with the animals in my area it makes it way easier to see them thats for sure...as for a retro fit...i have higher priorities for the car right now but it is in the plans maybe...if i can find something i like. And there is no way i am tinting my windshield lol!!!! I like to be able to see and dont need a cop problem....probably not gonna tint the door windows for the same reason... as much as i want too!

Again another jerk off spouting at the mouth without knowing what he is talking about. If we were talking about an ef or eg you would be right however on the ej and ek (correct me if i am wrong) they have a deflector built into the housing to distribute the light whether its stock lighting or a hid kit. I have absolutely no problems seeing with this kit.

I have the same type of kit in my car ( 99 EJ ) and I would never go back to a regular or xenon bulb again, I did notice in my ( 95 EJ ) with stock housings the throw of the light from the hid's was crap but after swapping to a clear non ribbed lense with a deflector the throw was improved a 1000 times . I would have gone to a projector style but I don't care for the look of them , to me they are kind of ricer , just my thoughts .

the June meet is coming fast but I cannot wait to see it !

Thanks Badluck for the itr manifold....

HID lights in EJ/EK actually create a lot more visiblity, but you do piss off everyone who glances at the front of your car. Unless you do a retrofit.
My suggestion do it once, do it right - retrofit.

You bought a P73 ITR intake manifold or exhaust manifold?

If it's the intake, you will loose hp on a B16 engine

lookin4civic
03-28-2010, 12:59 PM
no its the exhaust manifold...going this way cause its cheap and i plan on turboing the car come winter which means a different manifold again so i am having a hard time justifying buying a $500 header to tear it off in 4 months...

another thing I could recommend for HID kit to help if youre not doing a proper retrofit, casper shields if you dont already have them.

Are you talking about the deflector built into the ek/ej headlight? If not then whats a "casper shield"?

Let me know if you need help wiring the b16 as I just finished mine so all the wiring is fresh in my head, if the motor is a obd1 then you will need to change the iacv plug 3wire to 2wire. Then rewire the dizzy and a new plug for the alternator.. Also just swap over the injectors from your d16 or swap to the metal clip plugs if you are going turbo later on..

Pm me if you need more info

streethondas
09-24-2010, 05:42 PM
you only need the one mount ( the rear t-bracket mount) i ordered mine from T&T honda for $110 other then that all the d series mount will work on the b series

The B16 will bolt into a en EK if it has the right drivers side post, not all of them do

I think the 99-00 have the post? 96-98 have a similar design to the eg mount?

Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, it's the 99-00 Civic EM1 that comes with a b16 that has the proper engine mount post. I just bought one for my B18C5 swap

http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac340/hondapro1/Bottomend005800x600.jpg

Mr_ET took a good pic showing the difference between the two styles. People always glance and assume they are the same, but not when they are side by side

If you are referring to the engine mount post in your car now, yes, its a d series.....will not work on a b series block.

The picture above shows two types of b series posts.

And just to clarify again, the mounts themselves, are the same between D and B series for your car

You will need that rear t bracket too unless you already have it

So a quick update finally have all my mounts now just waiting to clear some space and do the swap. Also my wheel hub finally showed up and also picked up a nice little horn button. I have added pics of it. Now from the research i have done i believe it is an nsx button though i am not sure. If anyone has some info whether to confirm or deny would be greatly appreciated.

Coming along pretty well, Have you thought about color matching your sideskirts and mouldings? Thats such a small thing to do but cleans up the car so much. As well black housing headlights a.k.a type-r headlights would be so ballin

lookin4civic
01-04-2011, 02:41 PM
actually i already have color matched moldings from an SiR for the car just have a terrible lack of time in order to tear the car down to install them. and type r headlights are on my want list but coil overs and the rear disc swap is higher on the list first.
