I have heard alot about radars/Jammers, there is alot on the market, some, I've heard don't work at all and others are amazing. I've heard one of the best is the valentine one, a little too much for my budget though. Any info on some cheaper usefull radars?

Valentine One is strictly a detector. The selling feature is that it's one of the world's fastest detectors and it will tell you which direction the cops are shooting you from with radar/laser. Rocky Mountain Radar has one that is even faster than the V1 now.

The one I have is the RMR C302 (Rocky Mountain Radar). I don't think you can get it locally - I got mine online from the states. It's a passive radar/laser jammer, and is very close in detection time to the V1. The guy who makes this has friends who are cops and tests his products out all the time. He's so confident in it's abiliities that he'll pay for your tickets if you get them (within a 1 year period I think). I paid almost $600 for mine including taxes/customs...

There are also passive laser/radar jammers that mount remotely (behind your front grill and under your front bumper). You could get one of these for about $400 in total.

Passive jamming is different from active jamming. Active jamming constantly jams the cops signal so if they know you're speeding and can't get a reading then they'll come after you anyway. Passive jamming will jam the cops signal up until you get within 50ft of them. Then they will be able to get a signal. So as long as you are doing the speed limit when you pass them then you will be OK...

Yeah. I don't have too much knowledge on the radars/Jammers, but the valentine1 was one that I was reffered, but if it's not worth the price tag, then screw it. I heard about it through an international stereo rep. so it's not a very reliable source anyways. He didn't know what he was talking about.

Those grill mounted ones sound sweet, but I would rather just go with the little console, if they are just as effective.

And this "pasport Jammer", do you own one STi? If so, worth the price?

-Anyone else with deecent detectors/Jammers?

There is no good working radar jammer right now. The RM ones dont work at all. They have done so many tests on them and the same thing everytime. Its radar detector range is nowhere close to the v1. V1 is the v1, closest is the passport 8500. Passport makes a good laser jammer. If you get jammer and v1, you'd be set. there isnt a dash moount laser jammer that would be afffective.

here read up on the radar jammers urself http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=6000

there seems to be one that works good at protecting you from k and x band only

oh ya if you do a search this has been covered a hundred times

Yeah, ryder's right V1 is the best out there closely followed by passport... bel is a good choice if u got a buget, not as good as the other two but they hold up pretty good, mines saved me a couple times, you can get them for pretty decent prices if you look around on ebay etc...

Bel radar detectors. For laser jammer go with a passport, but how much money do you have to work with? If you have lots go valentine one and passport laser jammer, which will run you quite alot of money. Not alot, just get a bel radar detector, or save you for a v1.

Anyone that bought Rocky Mountain Radar got screwed, its well known that those dont do anything at all, every test Ive ever seen said they are a scam

As for the other questions, do a search, we have had long debates about this

God here we go again.... and again.... and again.... One last time.... If you ain't getting a Escort Passport or Valintine your wasting your money.... My Radar/Jammin system was around $1300 installed if my memories correct... If your whinning about the price just dont speed... I'm telling you straight up right now that anything else besides those two are a complete waste of money and you'll end up throwing the annoying fucking things out the window.... If your interested go see Jason at Audio Concepts on 32nd Ave next to the Love Stop (Porn Store).... He'll give you a sick deal, plus the install will be perfect....

I am a big fan of the Escort S2 Solo radar/laser detectors... ranks with the Passport 8500 and Valentine 1.

They go for about $250-275 USD on eBay

See....why pay full price, when you can get a good discount for the same quality product, then I won't need to whine because I saved hundreds of $$.:poosie:
