Alright so recently I thought it would be a good idea to get into the EG scene. Dove head first and so far I'm loving it!

So I bought two little hatchs. A really riced out 94' DX (Snow White) that... has potential (just humour me lol). Initial steps with this car will be restoring it back to stock form, hood, front and rear bumpers, lights, rims, everything (if anyone has a OEM white hood I can buy, let me know) Then rocking it as a winter car while I work on the real project.

You may all remember her as Naomi, she was a member's car, LilDrunkenSmurf. Well. Naomi died. And I'm resurrecting her as Tazia, short for Anastasia, which in Italian means "Rebirth". Couldn't use the French version because well, that's Renee... and that would just be weird. It's a 92' SI with a B16A.

So this is going to be a few months in the making and the plan is to have her all up and going by the Summer Cruise, hopefully sooner though.

Here's Snow White after driving her to her new home, what a site! I felt reallll special rocking down deerfoot in that. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Tazia as she arrived because it was too late in the evening and it was by tow truck.

DONT DO IT

Put them in the factory rear speaker location.

inline6turbo
02-24-2010, 06:55 PM
Seems mine was already wired for rear speakers in the factory location (you can see them in the stripped interior pic) but the covers weren't vented so I can't imagine they sounded very good. It must have been some after thought quick install, they weren't even bolted down, just the speaker magnet was holding it to the metal lol

The plan is to cut the covers and make a custom speaker grill. We shall see :p

Sentry
02-24-2010, 06:58 PM
Yeah the cars that came with factory rears had a grill, but every eg came with the wiring for them.

Easiest way to mount them is to use those metal straps with the holes in them, forget what they're called.

Looking great, pretty simple install those front bulkheads are.

What's up?

inline6turbo
03-04-2010, 11:48 PM
Seems the front bulkhead (the huge front end piece I just got welded on) wasn't straight. The lower rad support beam was fine, lined up great, but the upper is completely outta whack. I'm sitting here starring at it, with no idea how to fix this, without drilling it off. It seems it needs to be bent back about an inch. Oy... I have a headache now :(

shitty deal, hope you have better luck with it

a new...er old EG being re-done! nice to see and properly too. my rad support was a bit of a bitch, takes some massaging at times:thumbsup:

keep it up!

Do you have any suggestions on how I push it back a smig? I'm not a body shop girl so I'm at a lose lol I'd hate to drag it off to a shop, although I may have to

EFHatch

so the bulk head wasn't straight or the frame is not straight from the impact?

I'm confused

inline6turbo

The actual bulkhead

try putting tie straps to it and a solid member of the car(one you can trust wont bend). and ratchet the tie strap until the member yeilds.

inline6turbo
03-05-2010, 11:46 AM
Well I have to bend it towards the rear, do you think if I installed the strut tower bar I could use that?

Negative i think ull bend studs on your struts fast as fcuk, if not the tie bar itself

jdm_eg6
03-05-2010, 07:01 PM
It depends on how much you need to pull it back and how much reinforcement surrounds the joint. If you have alot of bends and intricacy in the area requiring deformation chances are it will be very difficult.

there are not many strong members in the unibody construction these are made from. If you had a frame then that could be used.

Update!

No pics this time. Tazia is scheduled to go off the body shop for a frame pull and front clip paint as soon as the passenger fender arrives, so shes just chillin now waiting for her boat load of parts.

Snow white got a lot of love lately. Recently replaced and/or done:
- L/R Upper Ball Joints
- L/R Lower Ball Joints
- L/R Inner Tie Rods
- New Headlight Bulbs :p
- Complete OOP inspection... which it turns out I didn't even need  but at least it was checked over
- Alignment
- Registered and Insured :) Now I'm rocking it!

Last things it needs is a new hood and a hood latch, mine's really sticky and likes to unlatch itself while driving haha no good.

All for now :p

inline6turbo
03-13-2010, 06:52 PM
no :( I've been so bogged down with work lately. Maybe I'll start that tomorrow. I should be getting a ton of parts this week so I'll be working on it here and there.

I know! Omg what a slacker!! I've been swamped with work.

Ok here's the update....

I'm sitting on my ass waiting for STRD to get my parts in still! The two week promise is now at over a month.

Yay! :banghead:

But here's an updated list of stuff purchased since last update:

- Another EG6. Lol. It's a black 93' I'll do a little write up about it after I get pics of it.
- Set of 4 16" ADR rims
- DC2 Seats
- DC2 Center Console
... there's something else but I've forgotten what it was.

Put an integra dash in it!!!!

inline6turbo

But isn't that hard to do?!

v2kai
03-23-2010, 11:46 AM
its a pain to do and there will be gaps between your door panels and the dash no matter how well its done. and if i recall correctly it requires some modification ot the door panels as well to make it fit. for some worth it, in my opinion not so much

Genuine Honda EG civic center console connects the lower cup holder area up to the underside of the radio making one united console. Compatible with all 92-95 civics.

Ebay has them for $150 + shipping = $200 shipped which is a total not worth it.

I check kijiji time to time, the rhd center console do fit(modification required)...

I actually got one for $80 last year for my old eg off kijiji, hopefully i will find one again :banghead:

ps let me know if you order, i want one too :bigpimp:

Only waiting on three parts yet to arrive. All that's left to order after that are my wheel and tire packages that Gary at UrbanX is piecing together for me. Now tazia gets shipped off for paint, just waiting for Screaming to get back to me on time frame :p

Play time is soon!

problem with the center console is you lose access to the cupholders.

the HOP center console is the center part I had to modify to make my custom center console work with my dash to retain cupholders as well. seems a bit of a shame to modify one but in the end, IMO the result looks more solid has a bit more storage, certainly original and more functional
