So by night I'm a super hero, but by day I do land surveying. Today we got sent out of town to a remote "farm" to do an RPR so they can sell it. A tow truck company that I'll leave nameless just happens to have a secret compound for storing cars on the land. So when the driver showed up I go talk to him to tell him I have to survey in his compound to please leave the gate open or not be surprised if I hop the fence. Sitting in there was a beautiful coupe S13. SR20 swap.. rims, kit..the whole meal deal.
So the driver gives me his card and said if you're interested give the company a call and inquire just tell them I talked to you and what you were doing so they don't think you're a creeper.
This is where it gets good. I get home from work tonight and call. The guy who picks up the phone greets me and I give him my info and tell him I'm interested in the blue... "RACE CAR??", he cut me off.
Uh ya the blue 240sx coupe.
"Oh man no that's a 50, 000 dollar car"
(I almost break down laughing) Uh, No it's not. It's a swapped 240sx coupe.. it's not your average 240 but its not a 50, 000 dollar car.
"OH YES IT IS!!"
*facepalm* no it's not I popped the hood and the vin plate clearly states that it had a KA24E in it. A 4 cylinder, 2.4L inline Single over head cam motor.
"Nope, that's a NISMO.."
Sir those are Stickers you can put on any car. It's not a Nismo..
"YES IT IS!!"
*double face palm* No sir its not...
"it's one of those fast and the furious cars. It's a Japanese Import. It came from Japan."
Well no sir, the engine that's in the car now was probably swapped out of an import because the SR20 came stock in the same car in japan. But the car is Left hand drive.. it wasn't brought over from japan..
"That's because it came from Italy.. A company called "Alpina" in Italy did the left and drive conversion to it and the guy shipped it to Toronto and was a wanted gang member there. He was pulled over by RCMP here in Alberta and I personally picked up the car and towed it, I got all this info from the RCMP. Either way the car will never be ours to sell it will go to police auction when ever they are done with it. So sorry it's not for sale."
After that the call pretty much ended. I have pics on my iPhone i'll post in a bit to show the car itself.. holy hell I almost died laughing when I hung up the phone.. I hope the read made your day brighter as well..
