Yes, this is the 2nd gen unit which comes with the DroboShare.

Without the hard drives the price is $450.

I upgraded to a larger DroboElite unit. I ended up needing way more storage than I anticipated for my project.

The price is the price dude. The retail value of the 2nd gen drobo after mail-in rebate is $600. I'm selling 25% below that mark. If you can't afford it so be it, but that doesn't make it over valued.
