Planning some time in LA, wanted to stay at a nice hotel, somewhere in Beverly Hills . Any suggestions?

So far this place seems to be my #1 pick.

Remember to use priceline and just bid for a 4*hotel. That is unless you don't care about money.

We stayed at the Santa Monica Fairmont which was very nice.

Right across the street from the beach and a short drive from Beverly Hills.

The only problem with priceline is you don't get to choose which hotel you stay at.

Just a nice area I guess, we have never been there before so just picking the obvious, thats all.

The GF likes to shop, and we love nice restaurants, so I'm guessing there is both in Beverly Hills.:dunno:

What would you recommend?

But by picking a 4* hotel you are getting one of the top hotels in the area you want to stay in. I'm sure you can find something else to do with all the cash you save right? Or try hotwire as well.

There are a lot of so called "4 star" hotels in the area. I prefer to choose where I stay.

Max-Boost, I still use your ages long priceline guide which you posted on here, I for the most part won't get hotels any other way. Never been disappointed, I used it for my Parents east coast vacation and they got to stay in some absolutely spectacular places for a pretty solid price.

And to the OP, have you consider The Elan Hotel? A friend stayed there a way back and was talking my ear off about how amazing it is. Four Seasons never dissapoints either, so that's another consideration - but typically there are better value for money out there.

Both are very cool. I've stayed in both. Parking can be a bit of a pain since they're both located in the busy parts of Hollywood. I would suggest valet, but that can get pretty pricey after awhile. If you decide to stay at the Rennaisance, I would suggest valet because they use the same parking structure as the Kodak Theatre. Traffic and parking gets insane on weekends because there's basically always an event happening there. Roosevelt's not so much a big deal, but I still used valet because I could.

The W in Westwood I hear is really nice. Westwood is where UCLA is, and there's always a lot of shopping and dining going on there. It's like a staying on 17th Avenue or Kensington. Also, it's pretty much smack in the middle between Santa Monica and Beverly Hills (and Bel-Air just to the north across Sunset). Westbound Wilshire takes you to Santa Monica. Sunset east takes you to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood (which is where a lot of fun places are like the Viper Room, Whiskey A Go Go, and the Saddle Ranch.

My wife and I are heading down for a long weekend in April.

Debating between staying at the Peninsula and the Beverly Wilshire.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks.

Beverly Wilshire is the one at Rodeo and Wilshire, isn't it? That's pretty high-end, I think.

Hollywood is a total dive. You're far better off getting a place to stay somewhere on the coast, like Santa Monica or even Rodondo Beach.

It's not that bad, just the good stretch of Hollywood Blvd is only about 2 blocks from about Sycamore to Highland. After that, it's just a regular street with nothing special going on.
