That sucks.

Any pictures of the car? Anything that sets it apart from the two thousand other red OUtbacks with tinted windows so we actually know what to look for?

Will keep a lookout for the idiot, bummer all this. Getting all CSI here, how many of those tire kickers were in your home? How many knew of your schedule, coming and going? Might be going down the wrong path, but this is where I would start my thought process.
