Do I need new speaker wire?

Just running a set of Alpine -R 6.5 components through a alpine spr-176a so would i need to get some new speaker wire?

what gauge are you running? how much power are you sending the comps? how far does the wire have to travel?

it is to your benefit to go with thicker wiring, however, it is not completely necessary

its in a 97 tahoe so im guessing about 12 or 14 guage... its ony in the front 2 doors also.

I bet you can't tell the difference between 12 and 14, most of us can't. You won't be sending a lot of power to those speakers, so I high doubt you will notice an increase or decrease in sound, unless you are using floss right now. If it were 1000 watts for a sub, I would step in and say there's a difference, but for something about 100 watts, 12-16 will be fine.
