Here's a good tutorial on fixing laptops that have spilled shit all over them, hope it helps!

Were you in a Tim Hortons drive through when you spilt the coffee?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Step 1 - Open laptop bag
Step 2 - Insert new laptop
Step 3 - ?????????
Step 4 - Profit!

I spilt Orange Juice on my laptop about 6 months ago while finishing up a presentation over breakfast.

I quickly held it sideways to drain all the juice. The think was sticky beyond belief. Ended up ordering a replacement keyboard under warranty. Works like a charm. I imagine coffee is worse though, that sucks.

you can take it apart and rinse everything with lots and lots of distilled water, as pure water has 0% conductivity. let it dry thoroughly and then put it back together. Tap water has way to many contaminants

it might just start back up.

At least I wasn't the only one who thought of this.

I dunno about rice but, just let it sit, even put a blow dryer on low and hold it at least a foot away and let it dry. But if there happens to still be some coffee on some of the ports use rubbing alcohol with a qtip on the spots that need to be cleaned. There are so many different ways to approach cleaning it and if you're lucky.... all you'll have to do is get a new keyboard! :bigpimp:

Well yeah I guess I can see that, the moisture in the laptop would absorb into the rice.... not bad.

Put it on Kijiji or ebay and wait for Nigerian scammers.
