Murdered out my winter wheels....

So I finally got bored of my E39 M5 rep winter wheels on the X, so I decided to paint 'em flat black. I decided against keeping the lip silver, mainly because I was too lazy to mask them off and too cheap to buy another can of paint haha.

Opinions? Should I have kept the lip silver?

yeah I was going to just leave the outer surface of the lip silver, but it would've been half-assed since I didn't want to spend the hours masking off the inner part of the lip.... I just don't have the patience when it comes to masking off stuff properly haha

p.s. anyone wanna mask off the lips for me for a fee :rofl:

or does anyone want to do a quick PS on the wheels with a silver lip:D

Just cheat, buy some thick silver pinstripe...

I don't mind how the black looks though...

I like the flat-black on that rim design. If it was a different style of rim, silver lip may look better.

Pics look gangster and probably better in person.

The paint is going to start to come off with all the rocks hitting it. Happened to me a few years back.

Thanks for all the input peeps, maybe I should've put up a poll.... I'll be keeping them flat black for the same reasons in my first post: too lazy to mask properly and too cheap to buy another can of paint ($17.00/can), but also because I like how they flow with the shadowtrim and the black plastic trim on the vehicle.

BTW if anyone's interested I used black trim paint from Calgary Bodyshop Supplies. It's actually fairly quick-drying and seems to adhere good to the wheels....
