Hey, I'm looking for a pretty cheap - first car for A to B (reliable so it doesn't die the second i grab it)
Can do up to $800, but I want something to just get me from point A to point B for a while

Not looking for anything specific, Thought it would be a good opportunity to get a car to experience "unassisted" driving with too. All of the cars I've driven are higher tech than the average winter beater and with all the assisting going on, it spoils you --

so instead of going for something really high up there i thought I'd grab a low end, cheap car for a while to use

Lower km's the better, and would prefer Manual over Automatic

Weather is good, so for anyone wanting to get rid of their winter beater, drop a line

Thanks

And to the person who PMed me regarding the 3 cyl geo, i accidentally deleted it.. but i don't think I'll be looking for a geo -- thanks anyways

Any other suggestions appreciated

Thanks for the link,

Says it needs rear struts... how much do those generally cost? And can it be a DIY learner or it need to be done by mechanic, if so how much is it usually for labor?

I'm looking at that, what do you guys think?
Some rust on rear but nothing too bad, and apparently needs alignment and rear tires probably need to be changed

How much would those 2 cost? Quick google tells me 150 or so for both if i shop around...

Good deal for the car?

Never mind, went and looked at that honda accord... lots of things missing from the ad... the passenger door wouldn't open with key, the power mirrors wouldn't work, the wipers wouldn't work, automatic door switches wouldn't work.. roof was ripped / sunroof wasn't working and after all that i didn't bother looking at anything else...

Just saying so others beware and don't waste a trip

You are aware that insurance, gas, and maintenance will cost you ~3k/year? And this is assuming you do all your own work.

Yeah, i have looked into all that, not going to be dropping on any car -- will make sure maintenance is at low to 0, gas + insurance covered
