Recycling Old Electronics

In my parents basement they have quite a bit of old electronics. Things range from 486DX laptops to 90Mhz Pentium computers to broken printers. For whatever reason they've decided to hold onto these things for years and years.

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can take them to get recycled? Can they be dropped off at a store like Laptop Depot or anything?

Yeah, certain City of Calgary locations recycle them for free year round.

And 1-2 times a year, ALL Calgary fire stations will accept electronics, chemicals, etc. for recycling.

Edit: I should note, albertarecycling is the management authority mandated by the gov't to oversee the program (and collect the recycling fees). I don't believe they actually physically do any recycling.

I just saw ERA on shaw TV ahahhah what a conicidence


I dont know what Alberta Recycling does with all of their computers but it looks like the guys at ERA give them out for free after wiping the data!!! Wow


I am going to spend tomorrow volunteering my time to get a computers oh yeahhhhh im gonna install linux on it....
