I wonder if there's an underground garage full of other goodies.

Sorry for the double post but just found a video of it. Not completely flush with the rest of the garden, but still, pretty sweet.

The sides of the wall in the last picture lead me to believe that they buried a smaller/trimmed down shipping container.

Or at least that's how I would do it on the cheap.

I don't think this guy did it "on the cheap," London is an expensive place too begin with. I'd love to see if it is a big garage underneath.:poosie:

In the comments:

There is a perimeter gutter to collect any run off water and then a sump with a pump inside the Cardok itself. The whole Cardok is further protected by a de-humidifier and air circulation fans ensuring a perfect environment to store your car.

I'd be more worried about mechanical failure. Imagine if your car got stuck in the hole.

That is pretty cool. Hope it seals up to keep out the rain. (edit: reading > me. Just read how he keeps out the water.)

There are set-ups like this in Calgary too, saw a few of them with my last job. There was this one house just outside of downtown that burried a huge underground garage in his back yard. He had a decent 3000sq.ft. house with a decent lot. Built a detached double car garage at the back of his lot facing the alley. He excavated the whole back yard and has a 16 car garage and workshop underground now. The double garage looks normal, but one of the stalls is a hydrolic lift that lowers and rotates in the underground garage. So he just gets up, goes down to his Batcave (connected to his basement) picks the car he wants, drives around to the lift and goes "up".

I can't imagine what some of the neighoors initially thought seeing this guy leave a two car garage with a different car everyday for over two weeks.

It was cool. I asked about his collection, it included IIRC: Corvette, Porsche, BMW, a couple trucks...nothing too crazy, just a bunch of really nice cars.
