Stolen: 72 Datsun 510

hi everyone....

Went to start working on my car today and discovered it had been stollen from where I was stroring it....

If Anyone has seen a Yellow datsun 510 with a black stripe down the middle.. could you send me a messege... or pls just keep ytour eyes open for it. Its a really rare car and I can't believe that someone decided to steal it.

It belongs to a user "dodgeturbo2". He has other car domain pages on one of which (dodge caravan) someone asks "was that on there when you FOUND it?" and another page for a Skyline (R31). All bought and sold last year except for the Datsun.

As for the Datsun - it's a pretty safe bet that it's the same car - if you look closely at the photo's you can see the rust on the rear wheel arch, matches that on Aarons picture above. Interesting also that photo's of it being towed are in the dark and on a Uhaul trailer. This guy may have purchased it in good faith, though, so we must be cautious.

On the Datsun car domain page the username is dodgeturbo2 and the vehicle owners name is "JakayoHara" and he is located in Calgary. I did a search for "O'Hara" in Calgary and there are only 31 in total. There are only two Jay O'haras', both in SE Calgary. There are three "J Oharas and one James Ohara, but no J.K. Oharas.

I think his real Name is Jason Ohara (wife possibly Kate or Kaitlin). He claims to be 5'9" tall and weighs 180lbs with a 34" waist - age 39 years old. (photo on the motortopia link below).

He says the Datsun was purchased Dec 2009 and sold Jan 2010. This ties in with Aarons dates.

I 100% agree, there is nothing to show that this guy stole the car, only that he had possession of it. The pics were taken in December when it gets dark quite early in the day, so don't take the moving in the dark to be a late night theft.
Aaron has this info already and has, so far as I know, passed it onto the police.
That said, this jakayoh guy said he sold the car in Jan so don't stop looking.

There are 31 "O'Hara's" listed in Calgary on whitepages.ca Only two of which are "Jay Ohara's", if he goes by Jay rather than Jason and a few J. Ohara's.

I Worked at Bass Pro start to finish (even after store opening) and I don't remember seeing this guy there as per his Kijiji Info.

Ive already talked to the police, and with all the help from people on this forum have a huge lead... the cops were more than impressed with all the information that I gave to them.
In fact they said that normally a car will just be reported stollen and nothin happens till it just shows up ...
So they are actually investigating the case, because there is so much info ...
The police are quite helpfull! Just aproached them the right way I guess, I have my case number and the names of the police who are willing to investigate the leads I bring to them with the help of you guys.... I have their number, when they're working... the whole nine yards, further more they understand how attached I was to it... good start.

THanks again for all the support, this wasnt possible with out you guys... I think beers are in order.!

I dont know or rememeber the color but there is one car same as urs I have seen around Co op beside 17 ave SE, also beside the deerfoot 17 building. If I see it again ill try and take a pic or look closer at the car and the driver

Yeah I think I saw that one too when I went to buy a car a couple weeks ago down that way. I dont recall the colour, but I did notice it, and it made me think of this thread.
