I need a set of lock ring pliers for my transfer case breakdown, but my usual places (Canadian Tire, Sears) don't seem to carry them. They've got snap ring pliers galore, but nothing for lock rings. Does anyone know where I can pick up a pair of these things locally?

Snap on has em. Donno on the price, but it might not be too bad.

I grinded a set of plain ol pliers down to the shape i needed when I got stuck... I don't know how much force that ring needs to compress / expand - not sure the pliers are rigid enough (after grinded) in this case...
It may work for you in a pinch - or buy a set if you plan on doing it again.
You could try Princess Auto...

Shit, I don't know why I didn't think of PA, I was just there a couple days ago. Looks like they've got 'em, and they only want $15 when NAPA wanted $52 for the same thing. Thanks guys!
