I tend to like army esque movies is this one any good? I can buy it for 13.00 or rent it for 5.00, so I'm looking to see if it's worth buying. ie: replayability.

i thought it was a really good movie, but very few movies to me are worth buying, and this one is only good once.

Not on of the best movies of all time but a very good one, worth the 5 buck rental.

That movie was CRAP, another cookie-cutter carbon-copy pro-US military propoganda movie. Blackhawk down was good, Saving Private Ryan was good, this movie was a little bit better than Thin Red Line, which isn't saying much.

RENT it if you really want to see it, but IMO it's definitely not a keeper for replayability. :thumbsdow

It's a good flick. Don't listen to what others have to say about a movie Adrian, make your own decision -- I'm sure you'll like it. :)

i bought it and watch it all the time along with blackhawk down. They are 2 of the few realistic military movies out there. There is a little more propaganda in the tears of the sun but still a good flick for all the tactics and stuff the seals used. The worst propaganda movie imo is behind enemy lines (i still liked it though) and another old but good is Navy Seals. If there are any more modern military movies that are any good throw the title up i would love to see them. Thanks

Navy Seals rocked...every once in awhile it comes on satellite and I always sit down and watch it. Black Hawk Down was a good movie as well...I own that DVD and watch it every once in awhile too but Tears of the Sun just didn't do it for me at all.

I went and watched it at the theater with a friend of mine and after the movie we both thought it was pretty depressing.

I liked We Were Soldiers a helluva lot better than Tears of the Sun.

I didn't think Tears of the Sun was all that great. I love bruce willis, but even he couldn't make it that good.

we were soldiers was indeed a fantastic movie! it was actually rated one of the most realistic and true-to-life war movie out there.

I'm all about soldier movies but Tears of the Sun didn't do it for me. The doctor woman there was super hot, but Whatchou Talkin' bout Bruce Willis seemed so dull in the movie.

I'm pretty sure that We Were Soldiers was based on a true story.
