u can get most materials at home depot, but custom boxes we hav a couple guys that build really good enclosures for cheap

Go to any car audio shop and they should be able to sell you some. Use spray glue to stick it onto the box. Works wonders!

Econosound sells carpet for really cheap - you can get a lot of carpet for about 10 bucks.

where is econosound? i only want the carpet, you can get mdf at home depot

Before you build the enclosure - you need to design the sub enclosure. The the first step is deciding on the size and type of enclosure. Do you want:

1) Sealed enclosure
2) Simple ported enslosure
3) Bandpass enslosure

The you must pick ONLY two of the following design goals

1) Big dB SPL (sound pressure level)
2) very extended bass
3) low distortion levels

Then you must run a design program to give you the dimensions of the enclosure. I like WinISD - its free for download.
