Is the rotary engine going to be as unreliable as the older models? aka. apex seals failing after 100 000kms. Also, they ruined the dash controls with that ugly circular design :barf:

that is a very nicely updated rx8. I have and always will want an rx8 at some point in my life...probably won't happen though.

You have clearly never tried one right?

It is a fantastic car to drive, I agree that the powerplant is underrated and unreliable but it is also what makes it so balanced and such a pleasure to drive.

As for the comment about the circular part of the centre console, it's been like that since 2004 when it came out... No changes there so not sure why you're saying they ruined it:dunno:

I used to sell them in 2004 and have driven a few on track, fantastic handling cars.

So why not get an MX-5?

Lighter, better mileage, piston engine, cheaper, same straight line acceleration.

The only plus would be 4 "doors", and that's not enough to offset the negatives.

:werd: as for it being fun to drive, that's more like despite the power plant, not because of of it.

They should drop the Speed3 motor in it.

It needs the rotary engine in there to maintain the balance that the car is known for. Same as the rx7's. The size of the engine permits it to be mounted very low and close to the firewall. A bigger piston engine will mess with the balance of these cars.

I've seen some put the 20b in there which would make for a ridiculously fun car.
