Anyone still watch the Price is Right?

I've been home to watch the last few weeks...remember the days where everything used to be a $20,000 American car with a Corvette on the big shows? Not so much anymore...

Today the girl had a Porsche Boxter in her showcase (she missed the price of the showcase by about $17k and didn't win)...last week some lady had an M35 with tickets to the final four in her showcase...she missed the price by about $32k.

Even the game prizes have cars like Camry hybrids and Accords and stuff like that now rather than just your standard Ford Taurus.

There were some good cars during the old Price is Right. I remember one showcase had twin Vipers. Best showcase I ever seen in my life.

New show is ballin', even if Carey's the biggest homo on TV.
The prizes are way better ...

Still, this show will always be lame to watch.

I used to think this too, but now I actually like Drew more than Barker. He's younger so he celebrates with the contestants, and actually says some funny stuff.

yea i saw the episode with the M35 too! That seemed crazy that they would have something so pricey in the showcase. I remember when it was like a grand am or mustang and thinking that it was so exciting! lol

That and although it's a minor change, I really hated the colour change the made to the set walls in the early 2000's -- it went from the classic red/green/orange to pastel colours (light blue/purple/pink) -- wtf was that?

I do mis the old days when they only had expensive cars in rare showcase and in the pricing games that were nearly impossible to win (Golden Road, Temptation, and 3 Strikes, back when all 3 strikes started out in the bag).

They should have gone with Marco Antonio Regil (host of the Mexican version of TPiR) as Barker's replacement -- great enthusiasm / personality for the show, and I'm sure that with his looks he's more appealing to a female demographic than Drew Carey (I imagine that there are larger female audiences for daytime TV shows). Bringing on Drew Carey to host TPiR reminds me of the blunder made when Louie Anderson was given the job of host for Family Feud (ya, low blow, but it had to be said).
