I'm looking into buying an intake for my car. I don't know much about cars and all that stuff. Soo, I was wondering if you guys knew what kind of intake should I buy? Nothing too expensive though but nothing cheap either. lol, I guess it has to be one or the other huh?

Ractive makes intakes for the Probes? I didn't know that. I had a PRM in my Probe :dunno:

ractive is decent for a metal tube to suck air in with. Definitely cheaper than AEM and probably very little in performance.

I have a Importech CAI for my Civic. Far as I know, AEM is the only other company that make a CAI for D16Y8. :thumbsdow

the filter is the most important aspect of an intake, stay away from any of the foam filters (weapon r, hks, spoon etc) as well as any of the intakes with steel filters (blitz, focus). The k&n style intake (aem, ractive, injen) offer great filtration and are easy to clean. The best overall filter is the apexi filter , it offers great filtration and doesnt have to be re-oiled....I custom setup can be built using mandrel bent piping or even dryer hose but just make sure you get a pcv filter or route a tube to your valve cover from your intake piping to relieve pressure
