Hey guys, I did something bad :(

I got into a small spill while learning how to ride on a friend's bike in a parking lot. I wiped out into a curb at a low speed going straight. I could get into details about it, but I'm more concerned about getting the bike fixed. It was a 2008 Honda CBR125r8.

This is the visible damage:

- scraped fairings
- bent rear brake pedal
- slight bend in the front brake rotor, the wheel still spins, but you can hear the slight rub

The brake line was disconnected when the pedal was bent, and it leaked half of the brake fluid and the front brakes still work. The bike still runs because we were able to get it back to my house.

So, does anyone have any recommendations as to where I could get this fixed? And maybe a ball park estimate on how much it would cost?

Thanks.

I guess I panicked when I came too close to the curb. It was a 2008 Honda CBR125r8.

shit, brah, parts for that bike is HELLA cheap. I know because I ride the same thing (its my first season). You can probably even pick up the parts online and try fixing it yourself. I'm sure that the labour to fix the bike with definitly out value the bike itself. Doesn't sound like the damage is too bad.

I wouldn't mind fixing it myself, but my friend wants to make sure the bike is fixed right, and I don't blame him. Because the rear brake decided to kick in by itself as we were riding it back.

Rear brake kicked in probably because the brake pedal is fuked. I wish that hondacbr125 site was still up. Looks like it just went down today too. It listed the pricing for all the parts. Try to find out what it needs and you can try calling rockymountain powerhouse or gw cycle to see how much the parts would be.

The bike right now cost 3k OTD at rocky mountian power house. If its preowned the bike can range anywhere from 2000-2600 depending on condition.

Hopefully someone else on beyond who knows how to work on bikes can help you fix it for 48 cans of beer or something. Providing that you get the parts on the side.

you can get all the parts at GW Cycle, but i would not suggest buying fairings from them as they are going to likely be quite expensive. you can probably find used fairings for cheap on a cbr forum.
