Nosehill is alright, but with light pollution it makes it tough. If you have the time follow crowchild out past cochrane near ghost lake it is inside of 50 min to get there (like 25 minutes if you put your foot in it). Other then that anywhere away from buildings/major roads where light pollution is lower is optimal.

The Rothney Astrophysical is South and West of Calgary. If their gates are open, you can go up and ask someone at the center if you can hang out.

There's also an open house coming up soon.

They had one of these last year for a week. Me and my gf ended up going three different nights at different times and got to see some really amazing stuff. Certain planets look amazing through a telescope.

Nowhere in the city. You have to leave to get away from the light to get some good views.
