So the pay is just "in kind" for the time being?

Will that person have to be in Vancouver doing this?

no he does not have to be in vancouver (your making automotive tutorials by video so you can be anywhere), basicaly we are working our way up, currently we have forums ( not very big at all )

basicaly what youll be doing is making hundreds of tutorial videos in turn get thousands and thousands of hits, basicaly youll be making money off your youtube hitz ( only happens once our channel gets big ) then the money that the forums generate witch you will get a nice cut from. basically once you work your way up you can be consistantly making about 250$+ a day and be at the golf course or at the bar......

but of course we have to build it up first..

I hope you realize the number 1 viewed auto channel on the youtube is DavesFarm and he's been doing it for over 4 years. And he has a HUGE backyard where he does a ton of stupid stuff. Good luck, it'll probably take 3-4 years of hard work before you probably see any sorta income.

so you making videos so people can do thier own repairs and no longer need you (a mechanic)? will not be getting any income for a while...?

there will always be mechanics needed for those who couldnt bear to open the hood of their vehicle even to refill washer fluid, and on another note there are those ppl who should NOT attempt to repair things themselves via a video.

not trying to put down your idea OP, just some ppl should never be allowed to work on cars, because those cars i will most likely encounter on the road at some point.. and at some point his muffler bearings or headlight fluid diy job might fail because he did it half-assed and it will come flying at my car on the deerfoot one day.. :D

So you want someone to do this for you entirely at their own cost, in exchange for future profits made from your youtube channel. Why couldn't I make my own youtube channel and not have to split my internet dollars with you?
What are you offering me to make it worth my time, money and effort?

well to be completly truthful, its not like it would take a long time out of your day to make these videos, all the money made from the youtube does go to you... andd a decent cut from the forums... basicaly you are independant exept your doing it on behalf of the forums, and once everything gets going youd be getting income from there aswell, but if you want to make your own be my guest..

I don't want to make my own anything. I spent all weekend tearing apart my sisters van to replace seals and the last thing I want to do in the middle of it is move the camera and explain what I'm doing. I don't even know what I'm doing half the time.

I just think you're jumping the gun a little promising all kinds of cash to people. If you were trying to start up a car repair advice type forum and were looking for interested people to help, that's one thing. But assuming we're all going to get rich and promising a share of the dough for help gives the impression that you don't know what you're doing.

How exactly does one make money from youtube? I could see ad revenue from your forum if you got big enough, but how am I supposed to get paid from the videos themselves? I'm curious what your plan is here.

seems like OP will be benefiting from free labour on whatever installs will be taking place

Better bet would be to make a make or model specific forum, that way you can cater to the enthusiasts and the people just trying to save a buck. Or you could simply manage a bunch of porn pages, one of the the guys on here used to do that IIRC.

alright well it seems no one is interested an are just starting to criticize me so we can go ahead and close this i can look else where..

p.s. i wouldn't be making very much money, just enough to pay server costs.

any how.... we can go ahead and close up and if any one happens to read this info is still at the top.
