Well, just finished installing hardwood into our condo did a bunch of spring cleaning, and now redecorating or so the gf tells me.

We both agree that we need some more green; more plants however we both travel a fair bit between vacations and work therefore all my previous plants die a slow painful death.

Any suggestions for easy to take care of indoor plants? We have plenty of windows, therefore lots of sunlight; I think the lack of water was the main killer.

Thanks!

Kavie

Look for a Dieffenbachia plant. I have one, water it once a week and easy to take care of and maintain. You can also use it to spawn additional plants.

Try self watering plant pots: :)

Edit: also look for plants that like direct sunlight and heat.

I once ended up with a poinsettia in my house.. It stayed alive a long time.. I was only home once a month or so and threw it some water.. It always had flowers on it..

spider plants are super resilient. I've gone without watering one for months and it still lived.

Just an fyi to people with pets in their house.

If your pets are curious and love to experiment on eating plants and what not, dieffenbachia or commonly known as Dumbcane are toxic.

Also pointsettas are fairly toxic as well.

When you say toxic, do you mean my wife's cat might not make it? How can I encourage, I mean discourage a cat to stay away?

Dilmah, just rub some catnip on the leaves. That ought to do it.

They are toxic though. Turned our dog from a normal canine into canusvomitus la projectlificum.

She's never touched the plants again since.
