I just got a 240sx that has starting problems. I have narrowed it down to what I think is the problem, which is the fuel pump. Now I have the fuel pump out.. But how do I test it? Is there any way to see if it works? Without going and buying a new fuel pump and then it still not start?

Thanks,
Tyler

hook a twelve volt source up to it, see if it spits out any gas-o-line

Hopefully common sense, but you will want to try to avoid sparks and such while hooking it up to the voltage source. I usually test mine in a non flammable liquid, especially good if you want to see if output is low.

LoL... Yeah, I'm not stupid enough to spark near gas... Anywho, I just took it out, found some old wires, and hooked it up to my battery. Didnt humm or anything, so I figured it was dead. And sure enough, I got another one today and Viola! Good as new.. Now I gotta get rid of this POS muffler.. Thanks for the help!
