Actually you can go back 10 years now.

Points last 3 years from convictions so if you have 4 points over a year old and you choose 1 year it will show the demerits and look hinky you don't have the offense listed. Best to go with a 3 year and nothing longer.
If you're found not guilty or its a no point ticket it won't show on your abstract.

If you were to get the points reduced on a ticket (ie. from 4 to 3 or 2) it will show the reduced points and not the original points. Same thing can be said about convictions (ie. over 50 km/h to a 31-49 km/h over)

I can't believe I actually caught you on a mistake...lol.
The points only last TWO years but the ticket stays on a standard abstract for three.
If you wander into a registry office and just ask for an abstract I'm pretty sure the three year version is the standard.

This. Most employers that require you to drive on the job require a 3 year abstract.
