Need to find MSN 6.0. I just downloaded 6.1 and it will not work for me and system restore didn't work. POS microsoft.

nvm.. just used system restore and it worked. went 2 days back.

That worked. I only restored to earlier today previously. I think 6.1 won't accept long names or something, or has a problem with messenger plus. Boo on auto updates. :thumbsdow

ya its pretty much the same as 6.0, u can just use windows messenger if you want, go into control panel, double click on add/remove programs, go to windows components and check mark the windows messenger and countinue with the next button

Looks like v6.1 pings the hotmail/messenger server upon startup and the firewall isn't liking that too much.

Delete or rename MSN Messenger folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\[you're user ID]\Application Data\Microsoft" Should be OK after that.
