Hey, im looking for one of those piston ring grinders, its like a diamond wheels on a base with a lever to turn it, and its for getting the correct mm clearance for piston rings. If anyone has one or knows where to can one can u please let me know.

Unless you've done this before I wouldn't recommend file fitting your own rings. Get a shop to do it. Otherwise I would recommend ordering a spare set of rings now before you wreck them. It's way too easy to file too much or file them crooked.

With that being said, Mopac sells them.

PS: And no, a piston ring filer is not the same as a cylinder hone.

He's looking to set the ring gap. Snap-on probably has them. You may be able to get one from Mopac as well or Unlimited Performance.

ive seen them in the northern tool catalogue for like 60....not sure about locally. i would try the parts places like mopac and performance parts by speedtech but they will surely have them marked up. might want to try greggs distributors or something too...

online is cheapest for sure though.

Yes, like this. thanks i will try mopac. snap-on is a 3 week wait becasue theres none in stock... This is actually not for me its for my buddys audi he's building, look out for a yellow audi quattro this year at the track.
